If you start this and have a hard time with Piper, power through. These two truly brought the best of each other out, and I as happy to see the growth in both of them. Brendan himself had a lot of growing to do because he was so stuck in this endless cycle of sameness. I would have loved her if she had a little more depth from the get go, but I understand Bailey’s reasoning for writing her in the way she did. I still didn’t love Piper by the end of the book, but at the same time I felt that she grew so much throughout the book that she grew on me. But I powered through, and am happy that I did. Brendan I liked from the get go, even though he was rough around the edges. She was a self-centered and shallow person that I had a really hard time connecting with.
